Iz' First Book Out

Woah, no words can describe how proud I am of my bestie who successfully underwent two weeks of physical trainings @ Tekong. :D Everyone knows that the training can be rather tough but I'm glad Iz made it through! He really endured well. Hehe! Believe it or not, it didn't take him too long to adapt to the surrounding. He even made friends quickly. How awesome! :) I wish I would I have a good time too when I enter, real soon... ;)

Since texting or talking through the phone about all of his experience doesn't really satisfy me, I kinda requested to meet Iz today so that he can share more things over lunch. Surprisingly, he agreed instantly and claimed that he wasn't at all tired or needed much rest. Cool, right? Hahaha... So off we went to Eastpoint to dine in "a restaurant that serves good food", according to Iz. Hehehe! Well, the name of the restaurant is actually Eighteen Chefs. We only know about it when we arrived at the place! :P

I am not someone who really enjoys exploring new eateries (due to many bad experiences) but something about EC made me want to find out more. I think the whole concept of the restaurant is really interesting - from the decoration to the menu. Without much hesitation, I quickly placed my order and soon enough, everthing came. We were blown away when we took the first bite into their drool worthy main course. It's just heavenly!!! Wow, I'm really impresed. :) We gobbled up everything to the last bit, including the dessert specially "modified" for us. How awesome? Hehehehe... :)

After the lovely lunch, we quickly headed to Tampines Mall & Century Square to find a perfect MP3 for Iz. Pity him being real bored in Tekong! Hahaha... We searched high and low and finally, we found the most suitable MP3 from Jade Gifts Shop located in Century Square. How classic! :P I was also itching to grab something for myself so I ended up with an in-ear earphone and *something else*. What is it? Check back soon~ ;)

JB Day Trip

I don't know why I felt the need to meet up with all of my friends, family and relatives just before I leave for National Service (like as if I'm going somewhere far for ages) but whatever it is, I'm satisfied. :) I mean, it's nice to gather round after some time of parting ways, no? Hehe. Furthermore, I know I will not get the chance to see most of them regularly again, so at least by meeting them now, I won't be missing all of them too much. Teehee. ;)

So yeah, with those sayings in mind, I made my way to JB today to visit my lovely aunt and cousins. Obviously mom and granny tagged along. Hehe. It's been a while since I last met my aunt and cousins so U can just imagine how much I miss them. Haha! We left Singapore at around 9+am and thankfully there were no jam at the causeways so we were able to reach Plaza Angsana in just about an hour's time.

When we reached, my aunt and cousin were already waiting for us. They wanted to guide mom on how to drive to their estate. We just followed closely and soon enough, we reached a very peaceful housing area with just a couple of small shops that were in business. We were told that the estate is still developing, thus, it still seem so bare. Not a wonder... Hehe. Oh yeah, we also quickly settled down in a small but really cosy cafe to have a "fusion" breakfast. :)

When we're done with our breakie, we quickly headed to my aunt's lovely residence. I really felt safe being in her house because there are a couple of security guards to "protect" the estate. Hehe! With so many Singaporeans in the estate, they better take good care of the area! U should really see the houses there... they're super gorgeous! Each and everyone is like a dream house, including my aunt's. ;) How I wish I am living there...

Anywho, the rest of the day was spent lazing around, chatting and just surfing the net (something I can't live without and thankfully the connection was good) so as to make full use of the time together. We usually sleepover but since mom can't get a day off, we had no choice but to make it a day trip. :( Well, at least we get to meet, no? Hehe. Soon enough, dusk came and it was time for us to part ways. My heart felt extremely heavy to leave the people I love but that's how things goes... Now I only have these pictures as memories... Haha.

We definitely will meet again some time later when we're all done with what we have to do. Oh yeah, to my aunt, uncle and cuzzie, please take good care of yourself when U guys reach Abu Dhabi. God willing, I will visit U guys there (plus a quick holiday to Dubai) when I'm done with National Service. A quick count says that U guys will still be there... OMG this is exciting! Hahahaha...

One More Month!

Oh my... how quickly does time fly by? It's now one more month to my enlistment day!!! I'm starting to get SOOOO nervous. Sigh... I hope everything goes smoothly...

ReunITE! :)

All the hard work in ITE sort of paid off when I finally got hold of the leaving certificate, today. Seeing the words "successfully graduated from Higher Nitec Business Event Management" really puts a big smile on my face. :) But sadly, it was only temporary. I'm back to being gloomy when I think of my future. Why does everything still seem so vague to me? Sigh. I guess, only God knows what's in store for me two years later, when I'm done with National Service... :(

Anywho, thanks to my lovely ITE mates who tagged along to collect the certificate, together. They really cheered me up so so much! :D After leaving ITE Bishan for one final time, we slowly walked to Junction 8 (also for the last time) with the thoughts of just hanging around and reminiscing the good moments we had for the last two years. Guess what? We ended up at Pastamania instead, to have a lovely and most importantly, FREE lunch! Hahahaha. No, I'm NOT kidding U. How come, U ask? Well, that's for me to know... ;)

After lunch, we still couldn't bear to part ways as we fear we will never meet again, so we came out with a kinda impromptu plan. That is, to go sheesha-ing at Haji Lane! :) Well, I never puff on the sheesha before so I wasn't really sure of losing my "virginity" but I told myself that I ~MUST~ try it once. If I don't like it, then I won't go on puffing, would I? Hahaha. So yeah, I did it and even though I had a few *choking* moments, I still felt that it was a great experience... ;)

Oh yeah, I also experienced something else which I really feared most, initially. Thanks to peer pressure, I gave in. Hahahaha. It wasn't too bad but I doubt I would be doing much of it. Not unless I am with them again or something. Hehe. :) While I'm not going to elaborate on what exactly is that "something" I experienced, I can tell U that it has a very "hideous" side effect. Look at the video below if U don't believe... :P

A BIG THANK YOU TO AIZUDDIN, SHAHARI, NURUL AYIN & NURULJANNAH FOR THE AWESOME TIME! WEEEEEE~~~ :D

P/S: For those who know what causes the "side effect", I appreciate U keep it to yourself. Just don't wanna spoil the fun, U know? Thanx! ;) Btw, credit goes to Dane for all the pictures and Nurul Ayin for the video. :D

Uomo Italy

The Great Singapore Sale is still going on in Singapore and I'm a real sucker for bargain items. I know sales in Singapore isn't a really fantastic event that is to be proud of but to me, any discount is a discount. Haha! It's just a matter of whether I need/want the item and is it worth enough. :) So what have I bagged so far? Well nothing much really coz I don't know what else to buy even though there's a whole lotta bargains out there. From bags to clothing to accesories, U name it and everything is probably on sale (except Louis Vuitton of course!). Hahaha...

I thought I need a bag but I can't decide on which bag is suitable for me so it's still in my "shopping list" for now. I also thought I need more clothings but I immediately strike it off the list when my mom reminded me that I'm entering National Service soon. What's the link? Well firstly, I'll only be going out on weekends (that is IF I do) and secondly, I probably would have shed off some extra pounds by then so what would I do with all the big clothings? Teehee!!! :P

Hmmm... that leaves me with accesories. Well, since I'm not the type who accesorise much, the choice for me is somewhat limited too. Haha. I don't wear a dog tag, wrist band or any other forms of accesories except for a watch and a ring (on my pinky finger). So yeah... But then, ever since I started wearing a ring, it seems like I'm obsessed over them! I already have so many rings but I can still purchase more. Funny eh? Hehe. Still, I only get those "chic and cheap" ones so it's not a wonder how I can keep on buying... :P

Speaking of which, I bagged a new ring at an irresistable deal yesterday! For the longest of time, I have been lusting over the lovely rings at Uomo Italy (located in Paragon) but never purchase any because, I don't find it worthit to invest in an accesory that cost more than SGD50 (especially when they're pretty plain). I would rather save up and get a bag or something. Haha. So imagine my shock when I saw the sign that reads "70% Discount Storewide", outside their store!!! Without thinking twice, I immediately checked out their sale items.

The collections weren't really impressive this time round but after a quick mental calculation, I thought the price were reasonable enough and this could be the only chance for me to grab something from Uomo Italy at a steal! Hahaha. So I scrutinize each ring carefully and finally decided to get a quirky piece which has the words "Veni Vidi Vici" engraved all around the ring. At the point of purchase, I have no idea what the words meant but what I know was, it gave the ring a little character. :)

Back home, I did a quick research on the three words and guess what they mean? Apparently, it is a famous Latin sentence allegedly said by Julius Caesar in 47 BC which simply translates to "I came, I saw, I conquered". WOW!!! This gives a whole new meaning to a "statement piece", no?! Hehe. Weeeee~ I'm extremely euphoric now! I thought getting the ring at a steal was good enough but look, I got more than what I wanted. Hahahaha.... :D

P/S: *hint* The ring is in size 19... Hehehe!

The Experience

OK as promised, here is the post about my experience in Jakarta/Puncak/Bandung over the last 5 days. Now, if you're expecting a very long post (which is very typical of me), then you're very wrong. Haha! Coz, I've decided not to bore U guys with mere words but instead, take all of U through the journey with me using all the pictures I've taken while I'm in Indonesia. :) How does that work U wonder? Well, all U have to do is simply click on my Facebook Album links below (preferably in order) to virtually travel with me. Hahahaha what the hell? I guess, U all got the idea yeah? :P

Jakarta/Puncak/Bandung Part 1
Jakarta/Puncak/Bandung Part 2
Jakarta/Puncak/Bandung Part 3

Now, what is travelling without shopping, right? I know some people who travel solely to experience a new culture, food, sights, etc. and skip shopping totally (not even little souvenirs) but that's so not me! Haha. A true shopaholic will definitely shop no matter where he/she is or what he/she is buying. :P Hahaha...

Sadly, this time round, I didn't shop much for myself. There's nothing much that caught my attention, really. I always thought it would be great to shop to my heart's content in Indonesia, given the exchange rate, but there's just nothing much to be bagged. It's not a wonder there's countless of Indonesian contributing to Singapore's economy. Hehe...

Anywho, these were what me, mom and granny managed to grab eventually...

BREADTALK breads/cakes/cookies!!! :D (it's Halal in Indonesia but NOT in Singapore)

Beaded slip-on scarves for granny (very popular in SG/MY/ID)

Lovely blouse for mom and handkerchiefs for me, from Batik Keris (established Batik Boutique that originated from Solo)

Fridge Magnets from Bandung & Jakarta

Pure leather heels for mom from Grutty (Made in Bandung, Indonesia)

Grey blouse, grey beaded scarf and black Pierre Cardin jeans for mom (from Factory Outlet)

Donatello & Pierre Cardin socks for me (average $2.50 per pair!)

Batik tissue holder from Parang Kencana (established Batik Boutique in Jakarta)

Black Muslim blouse for mom and yet another pair of Pierre Cardin jeans but this time, in dark blue (from Factory Outlet as well)

Overall, we're beyond satisfied with our acquisitions. There could be more purchases for sure but as usual, we try to control the urge. Hehe! Now, what do U think of our purchases? Hehehe... :D

Niz

Family Vacation

As I'm enlisting for National Service next month, I thought it would be great for my family to have one last vacation somewhere before all of us have to take a break from travelling, for perhaps two years. Haha! Still, the plan was not really smooth sailing as initially, mom really objected the idea but after talking to her nicely and making her understand my point, she finally agreed. Weeee! ;)

So without much hesitation, I called up Hamidah Travels to make a booking for their Jakarta/Puncak/Bandung package tour and the rest they say, is history. Hehe! Why package tour U ask? Well, I'm bringing my granny along so free & easy may not be the best option here since she can no longer venture. Furthermore, much time will be wasted and through experience, even more money will be needed. So yeah...

Anywho, I'll be leaving for Jakarta tomorrow at around 4pm, on board Qatar Airways and will only be back in Singapore on the 16th at around 1am. Hehehe! While I'm away, I hope all of U do not text or call me unnecessarily as I do not wish to incur a high bill! Hehe. Thanx! ;)

Take good care everyone!!! Till then~

Regards,
Niz

Goodbye, Faiz!

Hey Iz!!! A quick shoutout to U. The day U've been waiting for will finally arrive tomorrow! I know you're feeling excited yet anxious but U know what? Go with a positive mindset. It will all be over real soon! Hehe. So yeah, all the best in whatever U do. Endure a little and I'm sure everything will be fine. ;) I'll be missing U but I think it will not be too long till we meet again, right? Probably in just around two weeks time. Hehehehe! Now I'm feeling much much better. :) Take good care yeah!!! :D

P/S: Thanx for letting me "baby-sit" your lovely Samsung F480 while U're away! :P
