Rental Fashion for Fashionistas - TBIW
With the Great Singapore Sale still going on, don't u just love to stroll down Orchard Road with your purchase alongside a gorgeous Authentic designer bag? I'm sure u do! No secrets. So many of us have dreamt of carrying a Gucci or Louis Vuitton bag but just couldn't justify the exorbitant prices. Most gave up as they realise their dream can never be realised. Fret not! Now, u can satisfy your desire without burning a hole in the pocket. How u say? Rent a bag of course!!! :D
For people who get bored of their bags easily, this is definitely the best way to own a bag without actually paying the full retail price. Imagine putting a bag u purchased for $2000 at one side after a month or two? Such a waste, no?! So yeah, thanks to That Bag I Want (www.thatbagiwant.com.sg), many women in Singapore can now get a taste of the high life at just a fraction of the original cost. They carry a wide range of designer bags. From Coach to Burberry to Versace, u name it, they probably have it.
How much cheaper is it to rent than to purchase, u wonder? Wayyyy cheaper of course! Depending on the model, u get to rent a bag for as low as $39 per week! A maximum of 12 weeks is allowed (at one go) and that will only cost approximately $470. Seriously, 12 weeks (3 months!) straight is more than enough to make u bored of the bag. Not many can stick to one bag for a lifetime, trust me.
The best part ever about renting a bag is that the bag will be delivered right to your doorstep. How convenient!? Same goes when u need to return the bag. For those concerned over the "cleanliness" of the bag since many people have used it before, well no worries. The company will give the bag a thorough clean before putting them up for rent, once again. Like DUH! Haha.
So yeah, don't u think renting is awesome? This "sharing" concept is already very much popular in the US. I see no reason why it shouldn't succeed in Singapore. Perhaps, many would fear the stigma of being looked down as they can "only afford to rent" but hey, think again! Tell me what's the point of buying so many designer bags at such ridiculous prices and then chuck them aside after some time? It makes no sense! Anywho, kudos to the TBIW team for bringing in this idea to our tiny island! ;)
P/S: I wish they introduce bags for Men real soon. Meanwhile, mom has already thought of renting a Coach bag. We'll see how it goes. Weeee! :D
