Confessions Of A Shopaholic

OMG, like finally, I managed to squeeze in some time to head down to Cineleisure and watched the Confessions Of A Shopaholic movie! WEEEE!!! Hahaha. :) Seriously, I don't know what I'll do if I were to miss the highly coveted movie. I've been waiting so long for it! :P Hehe. Hmmmm... then again, I can actually watch the movie online (save cost) but nah... I doubt the feeling would be the same. Haha! After all, I have already "invested" in the book and knew the storyline by heart so why not go all the way, right? Hahahaha. Btw, yes, I'm not kidding about watching the movie online. That site which posted the video must be the most courteoust site! Thanx Yana for the link! ;)

Hmmm... so what's my take on the movie? Well, I can't deny I kinda expected a little bit more but in the words of Mrs Verde, "u cant expect to squeze in 3 inches thick novel into a 1hr 45mins play..." . Haha! Very well said, MV! Overall, I gave COAS a 6.5/10. There are countless of parts which I can just relate to! :P Hehe. Anywho, I felt that despite the movie being entertaining and all, the strong message behind the movie actually stood out quite well and thus, I don't believe anyone (who have watched the movie) can afford to miss it. If U haven't watch the movie, what are U waiting for? GO WATCH NOW!!! Hahahaha~

Anywho, right before the movie, me & Iz had a quick lunch at BBQ Chicken. I didn't want to dine there actually but due to some "unforeseen circumstances" *ahem*, we finally ended there. Haha! I'm not a big fan of BBQ Chicken but which student can resist their awesome deal? After all, it's my last few days to make full use of the ITE student pass so as usual, just go all out! :P Hahaha. Overall, I was satisfied with the service and was really euphoric after receiving a $20 voucher from them. It was so random but a little saving is always nice, no? ;) Hehe. Oh btw, we also had a break at Coffee Bean after the movies! Insane. :D

"Perfect" Man Bag

"Manbags (a portmanteau of 'man' and 'handbags') are shoulder bags for men. Sometimes also called murse (a portmanteau of 'man' and 'purse'). Though the traditional briefcase is technically a manbag, in the current sense of the term, manbags refer to messenger bags and reporter bags [citation needed]. Brands include Prada, Louis Vuitton, Tumi, Gucci, Lacoste, and Balenciaga." - Wikipedia

Why is it so tough for me to find the "Perfect" Man Bag? Perhaps, as Sha puts it, it's a "Perfect" bag after all. Thus, the difficulty in getting hold of one. Haha! I kinda agree with that. I mean, what is a perfect bag in this world, right? I doubt the powerhouse labels can even come out with one! Haha. Then again, this one criteria that I've been emphasising on ever since I started my hunt for my latest bag, doesn't mean I'm literally looking out for the most perfect bag in the world in terms of the material used, the design and so on.

"Perfect" for me, simply means the suitability of the bag to me. It must be sturdy, have a good overall look, have a large interior and most importantly, practical. Oh yeah, it also musn't carry an exorbitant price tag. I guess, everyone at some point time, have listed out at least one of these criterias while searching for their next bag, no? So yeah... till date, I haven't really found the bag that I've wanted. Someone, please help me? Haha!

I know some of U may argue that I have too many bags to begin with so why the need of a new bag but, let me just get this clear. I am searching for a "Man Bag" with handles so that I can handcarry the bag when I'm tired of slinging it on my shoulder or across the body. What I have currently are all "Messenger Bags", meaning there's only 1 way to carry it (the way that's mentioned above). I don't know why the sudden change of interest but I guess, people's taste in everything changes as they grow older. Agree, no? Haha! Afterall, I'm seeing this as a "big" investment should I get accepted into a Polytechnic, sooner or later. U know, I may need to lug around a laptop every single day. Hehe. Oh my... sorry for the random ranting. Now if U would excuse me, I'm back to doing more searching on the net for the "Perfect" Man Bag! :P

Btw, here are some Man Bag DESIGNS (in no particular order) that I adore. I really can't afford the "real stuff" so any inspirational pieces out there would definitely win my heart! ;)

Carousel @ Royal Plaza on Scotts

I have been looking forward to today since last two weeks or so and I'm glad it finally came. Haha. U must be wondering what's so great about today, no? Well, guess what? I finally got the chance to savour the delicacies at Carousel - the famous buffet restaurant located at Royal Plaza on Scotts! It's super famous till it goes by reservation only (this is due to the limited seats, I reckon). No walk in customers will be entertained, even if U are willing to pay double. Hehehehe...

The plan to dine there wasn't really impromptu (not like it can be anyways) because mom and her colleagues have been wanting to dine out together. Preferably, a buffet restaurant. Due to time constraints and what nots, the plan has been postponed till today. So yeah, when they finally met at Royal Plaza's lobby, everyone was beaming in delight. Haha! I'm just thankful that mom allowed me (and granny) to join in the fun. ;)

We arrived at the restaurant just in time with its opening so there wasn't much crowd just as yet. After settling down, we quickly "toured" the whole restaurant to see what was being served that day. My jaw literally dropped to the floor when I saw the variety of delicacies - seafood, sushi, desserts, "fresh" cheese and many many more! It's almost like too much!!! Haha. Immediately I thought, "this is super worthit, given the hefty charge". :D For your information, Carousel charges per person SGD45+ for lunch and, SGD60+ for dinner. That's really expensive I must say and thus, it's only right for one to indulge and not just sample everything. Hahahaha!

Everyone had a great time there. We indulged in as many food item as we can while chatting the afternoon away. Here's a sample of how much food we consumed:

To end off the buffet lunch, me and mom decided to savour all the desserts. We couldn't possibly eat everything alone so we just had to share. Afterall, everything was a tad too sweet for our liking but still, it was super lovely. We were also thrilled to get the chance to make our own strawberry and marshmallow fondue. There's this giant chocolate fountain where loads of dark chocolate just flows down continuously. The sight of it was just breathtaking. Haha!

All in all, we enjoyed the gathering very much and of course, the lovely delicacies at Carousel. It's insane how they managed to serve everything but I truly appreciate it. Anywho, after lunch, me, mom and granny decided to "burn off the fats" by walking round DFS Galleria for a little while before heading home to reminisce the good time... Hahaha! :D
