Kuala Lumpur Shopping Trip
Woohoo! I made it! Yups, I'm now safely back at home, reminiscing the wonderful 3 days spent in Kuala Lumpur. I just knew it's gonna be awesome! Hahaha. It's funny how I really felt much at home in KL. It feels like I've lived there all my life. Haha. Getting around was no fuss at all. In fact, the people in KL were quite friendly and helpful when I asked for directions. I'm just so glad everything went smoothly, as planned. Here is the breakdown of how my days were spent. :)DAY ONEDue to our eagerness, mom & me left home quite early in the morning and headed straight for Golden Mile Complex. Upon reaching at the Transtar ticketing office, we were greeted warmly by the staffs. I handed the confirmation receipt and waited for the "boarding pass". Much to my shock, the staff claimed that the Super Coach we were supposed to board was full. Before I could even react to that statement, he quickly added that as a "compensation", our seats would be upgraded to First Class at no extra costs. I couldn't believe my ears! Imagine, the Super Coach only cost SGD38 but First Class Coach cost SGD61! Wooohooo. I was all smiles! We were also immediately given the "Royal Treatment". We were asked to rest at their lovely lounge while waiting for the bus to arrive. Simply great!
What's unique about First Class Coaches is that there are stewards and stewardesses. The seats are more comfortable and it even have a built in massager. Better still, there's a TV screen by the side which offers a wide variety of movies! Since it promises a faster ride to Kuala Lumpur, the Coach will not stop for lunch break. It only stops for toilet break. Thus, food and drink were served on board, just like what u get in the airplanes. Fried "Glass" Noodle just goes oh-so-well with a creamy Hot Tea with Milk. We were also given Oat Biscuits for snacks and a bottle of mineral water. Nice! After 5 good hours on board, we finally reached Pasarakyat Terminal.
Without much hesitation, we took a cab to Ancasa Hotel. Gosh, I really hate the taxi ride there! They do not use the meter and we had to bargain the price like crazy. Imagine, just a short ride already cost RM20!? We got no choice as we wanted to reach the hotel on time, as promised. Luckily the driver was a nice and funny uncle. At least it was quite a good start for us. :) After checking in, we quickly entered the room to rest for a while. I am happy to get the 13th floor! :D At around 3.30pm, we thought it was a good time to start "touring" the city. Before anything though, the rumbling tummy needs to be filled. What's better than having some Kenny Rogers? Mom has been dying to eat it. After the hearty meal, we walked all the way to the Plaza Rakyat Terminal to board the Rapid KL train. We then headed to Titiwangsa. Guess where were we going? Eye On Malaysia, of course! We still need to take a cab there from the station. It was only RM3 but since the driver uses the meter, we decided to "reward" him by giving him RM5. Haha!
I was so euphoric when I finally get to see the EOM, up close and personal! Without much hesitation, I quickly purchased two tickets @ RM15 each and quickly board the capsule. What I totally forgot though, was that mom is afraid of heights! I asked if she was alright and she claimed that everything was fine. Obviously she was lying. When we were "floating" in mid air, she just wished she had not chosen to go up. She closed her eyes all the way while I just enjoyed the nice scenery. Having a bird's eye view of the whole area was truly fantastic! After a good 12 minutes (or approximately 4-5 complete turns), we were out from the capsule. Mom was just so relieved and I couldn't help laughing my heart out. :P
It started to rain heavily and we were stucked at the souvenir shop. Soon after it subsides a little, we ran to a nearby cab and asked how much would it cost to send us to Suria KLCC. Much to my shock, the driver said RM15. I asked if he could lower down by a wee bit and he offered RM10. I said fine, let's go. It was worthit actually. It was a good 5-7 minutes ride. Quite far, ok! ;)
We wasted no time when we reached the destination. We went round and round and of course, shopped a little. :D We then had dinner at a cosy little cafe called "Hoca Specialty Coffee". We had their lip smacking Tuna Laksa, Spaghetti with "Assam" Chicken, Mango Smoothie & Mocha Freeze. It was quite costly but we were so satisfied! :) I still can't get over the Laksa. Hehe. Furthermore, the crew were extremely friendly! I got a big cup of iced water for free! Haha.
After dinner, mom thought of going back to the hotel straight but I rejected the idea. What a waste! Might as well we visit Petaling Street for a while, since it is just a stone's throw away from the hotel, right? So off we went. Took a monorail from KLCC all the way to Pasar Seni and then walked for another good 5 minutes. We finally reached the bustling "night market" and squeezed our way through. The whole area was so packed, as usual. Still, me & mom managed to purchase some goods at dirt cheap prices. :D Only after feeling really satisfied, we left the area and headed back to the hotel. Weeee!*End of Day One*
