Batam Trip

OH MY! Finally I can squeeze in some time to update about my recent Batam Trip! I've been so busy till I can't even spend some good time online. Furthermore, I was down with a slight flu yesterday. Sigh! Anywho, here's what happened during my 2 Days 1 Night Batam trip. :)

Day 1 (Friday)

As I've mentioned, mom and granny went to Batam earlier in the day. Thus, I was left with no other choice but to make my way there, alone. Well, it's not a big deal I know but I had such a mixed feeling! At one point of time, I was also feeling quite scared! Haha. Still, I decided to just give it a go. Afterall, I was thinking, will there be another chance for me to travel alone to Batam? Hehe. So yeah... before long, I was already at Harbourfront and soon found myself relaxing in the Wave Master ferry. Weeee! :D

The journey from Harbourfront to Harbour Bay only takes a mere 45 minutes. I was all smile when I stepped out of the ferry. I was even more excited when I saw my relative and mom at the waiting area! After the immigration clearance, I quickly scanned my bag and luggage then met up with them. I miss the little kids. They've sure grown by a bit since last 8 months! Hahahaha! :)

Soon after, we settle ourselves in my relative's new Toyota Avanza and headed for Diamond City Mall for dinner and shopping!!! ;) Oh by the way, the MPV is damn spacious! I love it soooo much! :D The journey to DC Mall only takes around 10 mins from Harbour Bay. Upon reaching, we quickly headed to Best Fried Chicken (BFC) to have our dinner. I was craving for "Indonesian" food, thus, I ordered Bakso Rice and drank Jus Jeruk (Orange Juice).

With a full tummy, we walked out of BFC and headed for the DC Supermarket. I really enjoy shopping for groceries and what have U in this supermarket. Not only everything is way cheap, there is also a wide variety of items! I went completely nuts! Eventually, mom have to fork out a freakin SGD60 or Rp360,000 for all the goods. Haha! Since there were nothing else that caught my attention in DC Mall, I decided to call it a day and head to my relative's residence to rest.

Before we made a move, we had a hard time putting all the items that we bought into the MPV. Like many other MPVs, there are ample seating space but extremely little space for accesories (luggage, shopping bags, etc). Since my luggage already took up a fair bit of space, we ended up having to share space with the extra goods. Sheesh! Haha. Still, it was a fun experience. ;)

Back at my relative's home, I did nothing much. I just spent some time with the kids, unpacked my luggage, washed up, watched tv while munching on some snacks (traditional) and finally, have a good night's sleep! Woohoo!

Day 2 (Saturday)

I got a very rude awakening at around 06:30 WIB (07:30 SIN). Apparently, two out of the four kids needed to attend their Sports Day in school but since me, mom & granny were around, one of them decided to skip school. It's common with kids, no? Sadly, her request was not approved by her dad and as such, she threw tantrum. OMG! Annoying, I must say! We told her that we would meet her again later in the day but she kept on giving that one look which deserves a tight slap. Haha! To think she's already 10 years old! Her 8 years old brother was just cool about having to go to school for a while. LMAO!

Eventually, both left and I had some peace. Still, I can't get back to sleep coz the other two kids (one 4 years old and the other 2 years old) started to bug me in their own way. I don't blame them as we rarely meet and of course they wanted to spend some time with me but I just felt so lethargic. End up, I spent time with them and was totally awake soon after (by 07:45 WIB). Hehe.

Meanwhile, mom and my relative went to the wet market at around the same time to get some fish and herbs for lunch. I wasn't really happy with the menu but who am I to complain, right? Haha. All I know is, upon their return, I just had some nice kuehs for breakfast. Oh yeah, the view of my relative's home's surrounding is extremely breath-taking in the morning! Don't U just love the clear blue sky? :D

After a hearty lunch, I quickly packed all my luggages and was all set to visit yet another recently opened shopping mall. It's called Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre. From my relative's description, the place sounds real interesting. Haha! Before that though, I manage to snap some shot of my relative and my family. I wonder when will we meet again. Maybe another 6-8 months time? Haha!

It took quite some time to reach NHSC from my relative's home. Perhaps around 20 minutes or so. I really envisioned it to be so grand but I was a bit disappointed when I saw it in real life. The description didn't quite match the exact thing. Still, who cares about what I think? To them, this shopping centre is good enough. Oh wells. Perhaps, the content can make me go wild? Well, unfortunately, no. Even so, IMO, the shopping centre is actually not that bad as they do have some variety. Overall, I rate it 3/5. Hehe. ;)

Miraculously, despite the lack of shops that captures my attention, we still spent a good 2 hours or so there. Haha. Firstly, me & mom once again went crazy in Hypermart, picking a whole lot of food item and other miscellaneous items. Then, we headed to A&W for a break. I was really craving for the waffle. I was supposed to have it in Kuala Lumpur but mom rejected the idea. Thus, this time round, there were no excuses. Hmmm... I think the price charged were quite ridiculous! For two sets and the waffle, it already cost Rp100,000 or SGD18 (there's tax and all)! OMG! But then, as long as my craving is satisfied, I'm more than euphoric. Haha! ;) Btw guess what?! Granny met her long lost distant relatives!!! Haha. How awesome?!

Without us realising, it was already 16:00 WIB. We already confirmed a 17:45 WIB ferry and as such, we needed to proceed to Harbour Bay as soon as possible. Luckily the journey didn't take long. We were relieved that we had some spare time left before checking in to board the ferry. Mom could even repack the luggage. Haha! Soon, we bidded farewell to my relative and we checked in. I love the looks of the Harbour Bay Terminal's exterior. Doesn't it look like I'm in a western country? Weeee!

We waited for a good 10 minutes at the departure area before boarding Wave Master 3 heading towards Singapore. We bidded farewell to Batam and was so looking forward to reach home. I'm glad everything went smoothly, as planned. Yessss-ahhhh! :D All in all, we reached home at around 21:00 (SIN time).

SOME THINGS I BOUGHT:

Assorted chocolates and mints, assorted packed drinks, coffee soda (strange?), assorted Tango and Soyjoy, mooncakes and assorted Genji biscuits.

P/S: I hope those who've received the TOP Triple Chocolate bar from me enjoys it, yeah?! ;)
