Hei Sushi Restaurant
As mentioned in one of my recent post, I won a SGD20 Hei Sushi Voucher from taking part in a contest held by the Manja magazine. Ever since I collected the voucher last Monday, I was so eager to dine at the restaurant. I can't seem to wait any longer even though the voucher expires on 30th November 2008! Haha. Thus, last Wednesday, I decided to give it a go. It wasn't that impromptu a plan for me and mom but it surely does for my aunt and granny. Hehe. Pity them. But who wouldn't want FREE food? Then again, obviously SGD20 isn't sufficient to feed 4 mouths, no? :P Mom was, for the first time, so cool about having to top up for the dinner. Haha. Before we head to the restaurant, me being such a dumbass, gave the restaurant a ring to reserve a table. Guess what? The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. Still, who knows if suddenly a huge crowd decided to dine there at the same? Woah, I'm really putting my kiasuism to the practice! Hehe. Soon enough, we found ourselves at the "reserved" table. We quickly settled down and admire the restaurant's interior. IMO, it has just the right ambience for diners to truly enjoy their food. Btw, this is the first Halal sushi restaurant (in Singapore) that incoporates the use of conveyer belt. That alone, already is a unique feature to capture the diner's attention. Secondly, in this modern world, orders are now being taken on the computer instead of manually written by the waitress (for most of the dishes). Isn't it awesome? Woohoo! After placing our orders, we waited for a good 10 minutes or so for all the food to arrive. The timing is not too bad, yeah? While waiting, as usual, camwhoring time! I decided to just post a few pictures. There were lots more! Haha! :) Ironically, even though Hei Sushi is famous for its sushis, we decided not to order so many sushis as we were starved. We need filling food. As such, we ordered Donburi, Ramen and Udon, alongside some other delicacies. I will definitely return to have more sushis! Even my aunt went nuts looking at the different varieties. I believe, she too will come back for more! Haha. These are some of the food that what we ordered (there were a few more): Everyone, including me, were truly satisfied by the food served. It's quite different from the ones I've tasted at another popular Japanese restaurant. In fact, I think Hei Sushi wins hands down. Haha! I hope they keep up the quality for a long time to come. It's very sad that sometimes, the food quality goes down when the popularity of a restaurant goes up. Sigh. After the hearty meal, it's time to call for the bill. What else, right? Haha. I was so expecting a ridiculous grand total but I was blown away when I saw what was printed on the receipt! It's only SGD80! That is equivalent to ONLY SGD20 per person! It is definitely so affordable! I feel everything was reasonably priced. The best part of all? My aunt decided to give us a treat! Since I have the SGD20 voucher, she decided to top up the remaining SGD60. That's so nice of her, right?! Thanx a million, aunt! :) Oh wells, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. We finally bid farewell to Hei Sushi at around 9.30pm. Wait for my return!!! :D
P/S: Mom was so glad she didn't have to top up. Sheesh! -_-"Regards,Niz
