Mothers' Day Gift

Hooray!!! I'm so jumping for joy right now! Haha. I finally get to purchase the gorgeous cream Charles & Keith bag for my mom! Hearts the staff @ Marina Square for being so helpful. According to them, the bag is quite popular thus stocks run out quite fast. I was also told that apparently, only the Signature Label Outlets carry this design. The difference with the normal outlets is that Signature Label Outlets carry more leather products and have the 'Charles & Keith' initials on most of them. Furthermore, the paper bag is also more exclusive. You gotta love the signature! :)

Out of the 20 outlets islandwide, only 3 outlets carry the Signature Label. They are Bugis Junction, Marina Square & Changi Airport Terminal 2/3 (for passengers only). Outlets like Central, Plaza Singapura, Suntec City, Wisma Atria & Vivo City carries more of their newly launched and very much chic accesories line. Tagged at such affordable price, there's no reason for anyone not to look glam! Haha! Other neighbourhood outlets only carry their wide range of shoes and bags.

The Singaporean brothers, Charles & Keith, may be making thousands every single day! How awesome can their life be? With more than 90 outlets around the world, I am pretty confident that Charles & Keith will remain in the industry for many more years ahead. They have a very solid ground! The huge crowds at the outlets every weekend, proves it all! Hahaha. Gosh, envy!

Anyways, this is what I got for my mom. It is a very very soft yet durable tote. Designed like the LV Neverfull, this bag is very much spacious and convenient. Oh, did I mention the price? Guess what? It's only a mere SGD 20! Somehow, they have a 50% sale on going for bags in the Signature Label Outlets. What a blessing! I was that close to purchase the bag @ Bugis Junction for SGD 39.90. Haha! Well, price doesn't matter, really. What matters most, my mom is very much happy with her new bag! I can see she appreciates it. Weeeee!!! :D

P/S: I just fell in love with the Signature dustbag!!! :D

Going Nuts!

Gosh, it's been more than a week since my last post. Obviously I have a whole lot to say but nah, it's for me to know and for you to find out ... not! Haha. So far, life has generally been good for me. Even so, I guess it can be a Million times better if not for some buggers who just love to ruin everything. Hmmm... I wonder who? Hush. :)

Anyways, as usual, my mind is always filled up with school and work that I barely have time to think of anything else. It may sound exaggerating but that's the fact! I'm sorta freaking out too coz off late, I do get a little stressed out and the temptation to go on a retail theraphy is sooooo irresistable! Still, I must control my expenditure. Told myself to be a little thrifty. Spend only when necessary. Yeah, what a bunch of bullshit, Nizam! :(

On a lighter note, going out with mom always put a smile on my face. :) She can be very annoying/irritating/naggy/weird at times but I will always adore her. Awwww, sweet or what? Haha! So, last Saturday morning, we decided to "send" our lovely bags for repair. They just need a professional touch up. Where do you normally send your bags for repair? My choice, Mirrco @ Bylands Building (next to NAFA - Middle Street). Why? Well, not only is the workmanship fantastic, the price charged is so affordable and worthit too! To think they can repair almost any problems found a particular bag, is just amazing! Can't wait to collect it later today. I know I won't be disappointed. :D

Afterwards, we went round Bugis Junction in search of a small black shoulder bag for my granny. Her birthday is in 14 days time or so. Sadly, nothing is suitable. Even if there is, it's just way over budget. I then wanted to buy a cream tote bag from Charles & Keith for mom (in view of the upcoming Mothers' Day), but sadly, there wasn't anymore stock for the particular design/colour in the Bugis Junction's outlet. How sad! I will continue lookin out at other Signature Label Outlets though. They should have it and I MUST have it! Hahaha! Mom will totally love it, I tell u! How do I know? Well, I just know. It's so her style, trust me. Little did she know that I am getting the bag for her. Hush again. ;D

Before going on with more window shopping, we decided to take a break at Swensens. More like tea time. Haha. Since we just had Burger King for brunch, we couldn't possibly eat any main course. I wanted just ice cream whereas mom wanted finger foods. I guess it's obvious then that we ordered a little bit of both. When the ice cream was served, it caught us by surprise that there's a candle on it. We were told that it's actually a birthday ice cream. Little did I recall the name. I just pointed the picture on the menu. Haha. Well, told my mom to regard it as a mini, early Mothers' Day treat for herself. :P

Fries, Fried Oyster Mushroom and "Birthday" Ice Cream

Love the little candle on top the banana!

After the sumptous quick break, we headed to Bugis Street to see if there are any bags suitable for my granny. Guess what? We found the perfect bag the moment we entered. It's not branded, it's not glamorous & it's not over the top. It's just a simple weave shoulder bag. What's not to love about this unique, one of its kind, bag? Not only it is cheap (SGD 25), it is also spacious and most importantly, similar to the bags my granny used to carry! She used to own a whole lot of weave bags (in all kind of material) in the past. No, she wasn't rich. Get this, she did her own weaving! Gosh! Now, those good old days may be gone but through a small bag, memories can be relived, no? Awesome! :D

The only flaw about the bag is that there are no internal pockets. First of all, there's no lining so how can there be a pocket? Haha. Apparently, my granny have her own make up set too! No kidding! Thus, to avoid losing the small items, I also bought her a limited edition Naraya cosmetic pouch. SGD 12.90 is very much worthit for a Naraya item! Thanx to the storewide sale! :D I am so loving the "burberry inspired" design on the pouch. Flawless! I also found a reason to get mom a smaller cosmetic pouch worth SGD 6.90 to replace the one she bought in Bangkok, back in 1999! Actually, Naraya item does last long! The current one she's using has very minor signs of wear even after so many years. Truly, value for money! ;)

Gawd, so much focus is placed on my grandma and mom that I totally neglect my god mom! For your info, she raised me from baby till my kindergarten days. Sheesh! What should I get her? She's home bound as she has knee problems, thus it's very difficult to get her anything! Hmmm... It's ok. Will continue to look around for a suitable thing for her. I'm sure I'll get it soon! :)

Till the next time I feel like blogging, adios peeps! Take good care! ;)

P/S: Azy dear, I just have to include u in this post! Haha! Remember, don't take any nonsensical criticism to heart. Be strong, yeah! We'll bitch more on our next working day, aite? *hugs*

Niz

:( Unhappy ... Happy :)

Wow, once again, the weekend is here. That means, working days for me while others are enjoying themselves! Sigh. I have more than half the mind to quit working but I don't know what made me stay on. The new management just sucks! So many new rules to adhere, it just drives me insane!!! I have no clue if I'm submitting my May roster. I have so many things planned next month, major ones, that I don't think I can have enough time to work. Why must it be 8 days per month? Make it 5, please. I can make do with that. Heh.

Anyways, I'm so not gonna be that stressed up with work. Come what may. I'm just gonna relax and take it easy. Chey! Haha! Oh btw, yesterday I went to Tampines Mall (again) in the evening with mom. She's like desperate for a black heels lah! So off we went. Had an early dinner @ Qi Ji first, though. It's been ages since I last had their sumptous Laksa & Nasi Lemak! Yum yum!

Oh yeah, moments before heading out, mom did remind me not to look around for other things. Just focus on finding the perfect heels for her. Well, me being me, can never find that possible! Haha. So yeah as a result, apart from buying her black heels @ DMK, she also bought me a Jean Perry polyester pillow. My current pillow is almost flat and no longer comfy. This new pillow is so firm that it feels just like a hotel's pillow. Used it last night and true enough, it's very much comfy. I just couldn't wake up! Sheesh. Is this gonna be a good reason should I be late for school next week? Haha!

Now here's the best part. Mom also bought me a Calvin Klein Jeans Wallet! I have been wanting it since last year but as usual, I couldn't really justify the price tag. Now that it is on 50% sale @ Isetan, how can I resist? SGD24.90 for a CKJ item is such a steal!! Try going to the boutique @ Paragon and find something at that price! U can never get it, trust me. Apparently the sale is on only for a few days despite the intention to clear stock. "We need to clear the past season collection...", said the sales assistant. How lucky can I be? I'm so loving my, erms, 15th wallet? Woah! Hahahaha!

Gawd, what an ultimate revolution and euphoria state I'm in!!! :D

Friendly Outings

New term. New exciting modules. Same old Class Advisor. Same old teachers (except for one). Definitely same old friends [just that some are with new attitudes and .... hairstyles! ;)].

Well that basically sums up much of what I have to say about school now. It feels not much of a difference being a year 2 student, really. I have no clue why! Haha! Gawd, I so need to pull up my GPA, can?! I hope the new modules can really help me do so. I'm particularly looking forward for the "official" Designing lesson to begin. The thought of using Adobe Illustrator CS3 software to create a masterpiece is just exciting!!! MICE seems challenging but since it's the only written exam, I must focus much! It's too theory based. So yeah. Haiz! Meanwhile, Thinking & Problem Solving Skills may be a little tiring as there are already some projects lined up. I hope TKS is not as boring as Personal & Interpersonal Effectiveness (PIE) module! If it is, what more can I say....? Timetable's such a bitch too! What a total change! Sheesh!

Anyways, to take break from school (when it's only like the 3rd/4th day of school? :P), I had a mini outing with 4 lovely gals way after school hours on separate occasions. We went places and basically had a good time together. I really treasure the moments. Thanx u gals!

First up, on Wednesday, I went out with Ayin & NJ. We had a very impromptu plan, seriously! After doing the EPL survey thingy at CoffeeBean J8, me and the two gals decided to go to Bugis. We were to search the perfect bag for Ayin. Haha! So yeah, off we went. Then it all started. We went from one place to another! After Bugis Street, we went to OG, Sim Lim Square, Arab Street, Haji Lane and lastly, Bugis Junction. We also had a break at Zam Zam. The egg prata is something to die for!!! Imagine, we did all these within the course of perhaps 3-4 hours? Sheesh! But we sure do have lotsa fun, camwhoring especially (end of Haji Lane alley recommended)! :D

Then yesterday, I went out with Farah & Fareena! We too had more or less an impromptu plan of going to Tampines. Blame the craving for New York's Pizza! Guess what though? It's darn heartbreaking to see that the shop is undergoing renovations!!! Went all the way just to be disappointed. Tsk3. Thus, as a subitute, we chose to have the student set meal @ Pizza Hut instead.

At only 7+ bucks per person, it's so worthit! Sadly, the cheap price reflects so much on the "cheap" service offered by the waiter/waitress! I'm not hard up to be treated like a Royal Highness but where's the most basic of customer service from them? Sheesh! After indulging in the nice foods and getting ourselves bloated, we then went round Tampines Mall for a while before going our separate ways. Window shopping was fun, yeah gals? Money money money!!! :P

So yeah, those were the good times spent. Hope to have more, perhaps with different people, next time! Weeeeee!!!

Niz

Quality Times

I really treasure every single moment I get to spend with my mom and grandma. Mom and me are always too busy to visit my grandma at her house. Thus, "special" days are set aside to have a quick get together. More usually than not, we go out just for a simple meal. My grandma is not in the pink of health lately, thus she depends much on my mom to drive her around. Surprisingly, even at the age of 69, she actually can still walk normally and even take the public transport but then, she may get ill when she uses up much of her energy. Thus, mom & me always advise her to stay at home and only go out when necessary. Pity her much, no?

Anyways, yesterday, we really had no plan where to go but grandma had been requesting to eat at Arnold's. Well, since it really has been quite sometime since we last went there, I said why not? Hehe! Everyone loves Arnold's! Well, it was shocking to see the prices though. Last I went, the spring chicken's price was around 8 bucks. Now, it's a freakin 9 bucks! Sheesh. Will it go up higher by my next visit? Haha!

We had the Spring Chicken, Fish & Chips, Coleslaw, Buns and Potato Platter

Mom just can't wait to dig in ... Sheesh!

We ALL indulged to our hearts' content! ;)

Just who can resist this mouth-watering Banana Split? Yum2! :D

Overall, we had a great time. Grandma was happy. After eating, we went round City Plaza and Tanjong Katong Complex before heading to Geylang Serai Market. Bought a few things along the way and finally returned home. I have no clue when we can all go out together again but I know it won't be so soon. Alrighty, till then! Treasure the ones around u peeps! :)

Happy Birthday Huz!!!

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY AINUNLHUSNA!!!
May all your wishes come true &
May you succeed in your future endeavours!

The birthday gal blowing the candle on a slice of Tiramisu. Classic!

Well, actually her birthday was on 29th March but I was too busy to celebrate a few days before or after her birthday. What's with the SFF thing, my own work @ Sentosa and so on. So yeah, to make it up, me & Iz decided to have this belated celebration with Huz, yesterday. Nothing special really coz it was quite unplanned. More like just a quick get together. Frankly, I felt bad that we didn't celebrate her birthday as 'grand' as ours but everything just doesn't permit at the moment. EVERYTHING! I shouldn't elaborate... :P

We first went to Bugis for a very very simple dinner at one of the coffeeshop (opposite Swensens) before heading off to City Hall. The intention was to find her a birthday gift. Trust her to be so fickle about what she wants or needs! Haha! We went from Raffles City all the way to Marina Square and she still had a hard time deciding. Some of the shops were also closed by then! Sheesh. Finally, she decided to get an INK brown (shimmery) sling bag. I personally love the texture/design but find it a tad too feminine. Else not, it would have been me buying for myself instead.
Haha!

I guess she's happy with this bag! :D

Along the way, I was thinking, how on earth can this little outing be a little bit more meaningful, as a birthday outing that is. Thus, I suggested having slices of cakes @ Secret Recipe! They do have scrumptious cakes! So in no time, we were not only seated in Secret Recipe, but started camwhoring while eating the cakes! Haha!

Gawd, where's the cake? It really took quite sometime before the cakes were served!

Weee!!! Scrumptious Chocolate Mud, Tiramisu and Banana Chocolate cakes!!!

I just can't wait to dig in! But first, smile for the cam!!!

We were abruptly stopped by the manager while camwhoring as he wanted to "help" us take a picture! Haha! Well, at least there's a formal one. ;)

Overall, I hope u enjoyed the night, Huz! I mean, I know it could have been much more better and me & Iz could have gotten u a better gift (like what u gave us) but truly is, it's the thought that counts. Gotta agree with Iz. Hehe. Good luck in everything for u and catch up soon!!! :)

Having a crazie moment in the bus with Iz's non-living spider! Haha!

SFF Madness!

Finally, the much awaited pictures are here! A gazillion thanx to Jannah for uploading them all! Awesome, I tell u! Haha! Oh. My. God. I have no idea why I'm terribly missing Singapore Fashion Festival. I wish it didn't end. Now, that's just a wish. Haha! At least, I have these lovely pictures that captures all the jaw dropping moments I went through. Well perhaps some of u may say I sound exaggerating but u will definitely understand better if u were there. Trust me. ;)

Anywho, here are pictures of me taken with part of the organiser, new friends, A-lister and celebrities. Woohoo! I know some of u are jealous much but I'm sorry. It's just my luck I suppose!! :D

(in clockwise rotation) Bryan Wong, Laura Maria Giovanni, me, Don, Siti Hajar (Tia) & Joline (if I'm not wrong :P). I miss them so so much!!! :'(

Ayumi & me. She's really really sweet!!!

A friendly reporter (I never ask his name) & me. Envy his experience in the fashion industry for so many years now...!

Sir Collin McDowell (Straits Time London Journalist) & me. He is extremely kind! He even said thank you to me for helping out in the event! :D

MTV VJ Utt & Taia with us. They're very much friendly and love to joke around! ;)

Vernetta Lopez & me! OMG. Not only is she beautiful, she is also super duper friendly and nice to hang around with! ;)

We just can't get enough of Denise Keller, can we? Her gorgeous looks and killer smile never fail to make melt... Haha! Two thumbs up for her! ;D

Overall, I must say that I am very much satisfied and thankful to have gotten the chance to participate in the Singapore Fashion Festival 2008. I really really hope I will be in next year's fest. Till then, life goes on... LOL wth?

GUESS What ... ?

Whoopey Woohoo!!! Guess what? Come on, guess! Haha! Get this, I finally got myself a GUESS messenger bag! Weeee!!! Ok seriously, stop it Nizam.

This huge bag is in the Kensington group and is Black/Gray in colour. For a 100% PVC bag, I don't know if the price tag is worthit. It cost me a whopping $159.90! Fine, it may not sound that expensive but I never ever imagined buying any bag at that price. I thought that the Balenciaga bag (which cost $109.90) mom bought me last month, was going to be the most expensive bag I ever own. I am so proved wrong. Sheesh! How insane can this be? Very much if u ask me!

Well, I would be extremely lying if I say I didn't like this GUESS bag because I do and that what made me bought it. BUT! I am still having this guilty pleasure ok! I mean, I love GUESS bags since last year or so but they discontinued the men line as there were not much response. Now, with a fresher come back, I just couldn't resist owning one! After all, I am very much sick and tired of the old, boring and plain bags selling everywhere! I need patterns, if not colours! So, tada...! Haha.

Surprisingly, Mom just "supported" my decision to buy. She actually purchased it for me first. I gotta have to repay her though (soon hopefully), but I hope I can talk into paying ONLY 1/2 or 3/4 of the cost. Wish me luck, peeps! :P Btw, I don't understand myself. Every single time I wanna buy something, I need someone by my side to give me opinion. Obviously that someone will just tell me to buy, no? Then after my purchase, I'll be thinking and thinking if I got what I need/want. Haha! No regrets I suppose coz it's all over! The store's richer, I'm poorer but probably happier. :)

Hmm ... Isn't it very much true that one can never have too many bags? I am the living example! Haha. Despite already owning 6 or 7 functional bags, I am still eyeing on other bags. They are all within reach but I just have to control myself, I guess. Haha! By nature, I am someone who gets bored and tired of what I own easily but gradually, it has been getting better. I can die of bankruptcy if this were to go on, man! Haha! Alrighty, toodles peeps!

Niz

Meanwhile, here are some pictures taken with the crazie crew! If not for these peeps, SFF would be such a bore! Thanx for the memories guys and hopefully, we can all work together again next time! ;)
