Longchamp Paris
"Longchamp is a (60 years old) French leather and luxury goods company founded in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain. The company got its name through the horse race track that was located just next door to the founder's residence. In english, Longchamp simply means "long field". What's unique, Longchamp is a private family-run company but almost 1000 people work for them, in France. 800 people work in production alone. Most Longchamp products are made in France [in the company's workshops (particularly in Segré and Maine et Loire)] and then distributed worldwide."
Hmmm... I'm sure most of U are aware of this label, no? I was particularly attracted to it since last year or so after hearing about their highly coveted Le Pliage bags. In fact, I was so interested, I even went into their boutique time and again just to check out the different pieces they have for sale! I never really checked out their prices, though. Hehe. Still, I wasn't sure about owning one. Well, that's purely because, the coveted bags are more suitable for the ladies (IMHO) even though they are meant for unisex. I may carry one of the larger version when I go travelling but then again, I never really had that many chance to travel, in the first place. Haha! So eventually, I decided to pass.
But, since then on, I found that my passion for the Le Pliage line grow further, especially when I pass by the boutique @ Paragon. In fact, by the end of last year, my mom had also shown some interest in the line. ;) Well, even so, we got frightened by our own assumption of their price tag and decided to just walk away from it. Haha! I know, that's soooo dumb of us, right?! So today, I somehow had the thought of researching their prices, online. Thank god, before I even begin, "bagaholicboy.com" came to the rescue. In one of his latest posts, he mentioned the pricing of the Le Pliage collection. Guess what? I had the shock of my life. The bags apparently were so affordable! In fact, I think it's dirt cheap (most of it)! Not a wonder countless of ladies in Singapore carries at least a small Longchamp's Le Pliage bag. Sigh. Mom should have gotten a piece or two since back then! :P
Now, I found myself browsing through the Lonchamp website once again, trying to find the most perfect bag for mom (not myself!) in the Le Pliage line. I know mom can be soooo fussy but I guess I managed to eventually shortlist a couple of handbags that are suitable for her. The question now is, to splurge or not to splurge? I don't see why she couldn't invest in a bag from Longchamp when she can invest in a Coach bag, just like that? Haha. So yeah... here are the pieces (bags + accesories) that are currently in my list of "must have for mom". Hehehehe! :)

P/S: Prices starts from SGD147 onwards for the bags while accesories obviously retails way below that. :D I feel, the label really put those brands found in deparmental stores, to shame! Oops~ ;)
