こんにちは (Konichiwa)! How are U people doing? It's been some time since I last updated my blog, as most of U people would have noticed, but whatever it is, I'm back! Hahaha. This time round, the topic is once again on food! :P Come on, Singaporeans are famous for their large appetite, epecially for good quality food, no? Hahaha. As such, I'm not spared from the insanity but as much as I can, I will limit the intake. Hehe. :P So where did I head today with my family?

Well, we chose to dine in a newly opened japanese restaurant at Century Square Tampines, named Shin Tokyo! Pardon me if I got the age of the restaurant wrong as this is actually my first time dining there. Heck, it's also the first time I'm seeing the restaurant! Haha. I don't recall seeing it the last time I passed by CS (a couple of months back), so yeah. Anywho, it seems that Ramen Ten have decided to share the space with Shin Tokyo. I initially thought it was two separate restaurants but I was so wrong. I guess, this is just an awesome move made by both the companies in order to survive the recession. I'm sure they felt the pinch, thus the joint venture. But in any ways, from the consumer point of view, I just felt that the collaboration simply means more food item on the menu and that fact will make any japanese food lover (like me), go wild! Hahaha...

As we all know, Ramen Ten is famous for their udons and other japanese delicacies but Shin Tokyo focused mainly on Sushis & Sashimis. In fact, they have adapted the conveyor belt concept, making it the second (Halal) Sushi restaurant in Singapore to offer this service - after Hei Sushi. As a Sushi & Sashimi lover, I really welcome this concept and in fact, really enjoyed seeing plates of drool-worthy delicacies pass me by every second. Haha! Price wise, I must say that it's rather affordable though questions of worthiness may arise. Well, whatever it is, you've just got to savour what's served, no? :P

Me and family were actually quite full from a heavy lunch at home but that doesn't deter us from having 10 plates of Sushis (in total) for tea. Haha. To wash down everything, we all drank a refreshing Hot Japanese Tea, which is just heavenly. :) I wish we could have inserted some dessert but then I don't think our tummy could hold anymore food. Sad no doubt but we will definitely savour them, next time. Haha! Overall, I say, Shin Tokyo is just fine but they do have the potential to make it big if they expand their Sushi menu or offer something more unique. It's a little forgettable for now. Then again, it may just be me. Go and check out Shin Tokyo yourself and see if our opinions clash. Hehe! :D
P/S: The theme for today is *BLUE*! :)
