Tampines 1
 OMG! Have U guys checked out Tampines 1 yet? Today was the official launch and I'm glad to be one of the first "Kiasu" Singaporeans to set foot in the new, 260,000 square feet mall, located just next to Tampines MRT/Interchange! Hahahaha. :D U may say I'm too free to be checking out a shopping mall, two hours after lunch time but hey, do U know that there are hundreds of other people in the mall too at that point of time? Haha! Aren't they suppose to be working or something? Tsk3...
Anywho, I must say that I really adore the new mall despite it being a little "squeezy". I heard the size of the mall is slightly smaller than the existing Tampines Mall but it's amazing to know that they have 172 shops or so in the building! Haha. The overall concept is very much simple but not at all boring. Somehow, the developer managed to incorporate certain architectural designs that makes the mall looks larger than it is and also, allows ample light to enter. My first reaction was, it's just refreshing! :) Singapore seriously needs more shopping malls with an edge so I believe, Tampines 1 is on the right track. Haha! The same also goes to Illuma Bugis and ION Orchard. ;)
 Well, there are obviously many shops in Tampines 1 that are worth mentioning but for today, I will only focus on Uniqlo. Uniqlo comes from Japan and has existed since June 1984. The label started to boom across Japan since 1998 onwards and 11 years later, it decided to open its first shop in Singapore. I personally wasn't aware of this label but somehow or another, the news about Uniqlo coming to Singapore has sparked off a huge interest in the community. Perhaps, people nowadays are just craving for "something new" so that explains why Uniqlo is well accepted here.
 So while I was at Tampines 1 earlier, I decided to check out the Uniqlo shop but little did I expect what was in store for me. Haha! There was a super duper long queue just to get into the 9,000 square feet retail space. Imagine that! Sheesh. Still, I just joined the queue coz I have loads of time to spare and I "desperately" wanted to check out the shop. Hehe! As usual, there were some complaints from extremely typical Singaporeans but eventually, everyone just shut up and waited for their turn. :) Soon enough, I found myself browsing through all the apparels in the crowded shop and I felt very happy! Haha. Uniqlo certainly carries a very unique range of apparels and when paired with the amazing introductory price, everything seems perfect. ;)
 After going round and round, I decided to just get mom a pair of wedges and also "something else for someone". HAHA! I would love to get their socks or bag for myself but sadly, it's a little above my budget for now. Maybe next time. ;) Oh btw, Uniqlo have the most amazing staffs! Their service was beyond excellent and it's nice to see them not cracking down under pressure. :D I just hope the good service will last for a long time to come! ;)
 Once done with the payment, I quickly headed out of the shop and went to the third level where I spotted a lovely F&B outlet called Teadot. Teadot specializes in everything related to Tea so it was just the place to be for a tea lover, like me. :) I was very much confused with the menu so I requested for a recommendation and the lovely cashier pointed out, Little Red Fuji. It's a smoothie like drink which consist of Fuji Apple, Milk and Tea. Know what? It's beyond heavenly! Worth the 6 bucks. Haha!
Overall, I would say that I see a very big potential in this new mall and I believe, business will just boom for all the retailers in the months to come. If Century Square and Tampines Mall can exist till today, why not Tampines 1? ;) Go and check it out U guys! I'm definitely heading there again soon (most likely with mom). Wonder if she will bag some good deals there...? Hehe! :P
